Smile Layout (not a flower in site)

Hello hello

I have popped by today to share my latest creation....

I love my flowers and I don't usually create a page without them and for this reason I really don't scrap Donte enough... so this page is very different for me...

The lovely Tracy Kielty from My 2 Angels was holding a retreat, she was collecting ring pulls from drink cans sold at the retreat to help raise money for mobility equipment for my precious little man. Donte has a very rare brain condition called Holoprosencephaly and also has CP which has affected his ability to walk unassisted. This photo was the one she asked me to use for the flyer... which inspired me to actually use it...

Donte has such an amazing smile and is cheeky to boot..

"Smile"

This photo was taken at our family splatter paint photo shoot... this was before we got all messy

Prima Product Pick - Mason Jar

Hi There

This months when I saw Prima's PP challenge..
My creative mind started working over time so many ideas..
Here is what I created

I purchased this mason jar wall plaque from one of my local discount stores. It was very plain which meant I was able to alter everything and make this beautiful decor piece for my craft room.

Below is  a pic of the Challenge - I took my inspiration from the Mason Jar, leaves, flowers and Butterflies in the images and added them with the off white, lemon, pale pink and light blue colours

Details of the products I used
Prima
Chalkboard Paint (sea breeze), Art Basics Heavy Gesso (white), Art Basics Soft Matte Gel, Art Basics Gesso (clear), Providence Leaves (oregano), Junkyard Findings, Shabby Chic Resin, Shabby Chic Metal and a mix of new and vintage Prima Flowers, Art Sugar (white)
Other
Lindy's Stamp Gang Bonjour Butter Flat Fabio Spray

Now for some close ups....

I wanted to add a little something extra and when I saw the new Lumies coming from Prima I thought they would be the perfect addition.... But unfortunately they are not available yet
Sooooo I borrowed a set of fairy lights from my daughters bedroom in the meantime until I can get my hands on some Lumies..
this is how it looks with the lights dimmed and the fairy lights on

Thanks for popping by

until next time

'So much Love for her' Layout

Happy Monday to you all, I hope you had a wonderful weekend :)
Today I have a layout to share with you.

Blue Fern Studios releases a sketch challenge each month.  This months sketch was wonderful and a great starting point for me. You can find all of the details HERE

I really enjoyed creating this layout using the sketch.

The Blue Fern Studios products I used are Ombre Dreams papers along with the love chipboard word from the love, cherish, adore word pack and diamond bits.
I also used
Prima flowers, gel medium, clear gesso, white crackle paste, mask and colour bloom sprays,
Kaisercraft flowers,
Melissa Francis resin,
AC Zing embossing powder,
Lindy's Stamp Gang Flat Fabio sprays,
The Scrap Cottage flowers and leaves.

'So much Love for her'

This layout is of my eldest DD, and I just love this selfie she took, it really shows off her beautiful smile which lights up any room she walks into.

Kraft+ Challenge Blog Guest DT

Happy April Fools Day :)

Today I am here to share a Guest DT project for the fabulous Kraft+ Challenge Blog on behalf of The Scrap Cottage who are one of this months sponsors.

The Challenge: Retro Recipe

I have created a mini album using the very rad, Boys Rule collection from Crate Paper

'A Story of a Boy'
This super cute mini will contain photos and the story of my little man, and how he has defied the odds he was given to grow into a very sweet little dude.
(I have not added photos to this yet)

The cover

The pages

Each page has a pocket that contains a file folder to hold even more photos and information, as well as a fold out flap... this mini will hold a ton of photos.

and a close up

Thanks for stopping by to have a look

and don't forget to check out the Kraft+ Challenge Blog

Pretty Pastel Canvas

Hi there, I am popping in today to share with you the first project I have created all year. I know, I know its March already and I have not done anything since before Christmas which is a horrible feeling.
I have spent the past few months in and out of hospital and then finally having surgery I am now a whole lot better. anyway enough about that I have managed to be creative.

I really love using everyday items in my work and when I discovered one of my Mums old lace curtains in the back of the linen cupboard I was super excited with my find. It really wasn't hard to work out what I wanted to do.
so here it is.....

Here I have used a 8" x 10" Canvas and sprayed it with LSG C'est La Vie Cerise. Once the colour was dry I then sponged Prima Art Basics Heavy Gesso (White) around the edges and softly in towards the middle to add a dreamy sort of feel. To add the lace I gave the whole canvas a coat of Prima Art Basics Soft Matte Gel and then lay the lace over the top. I wanted the lace to still look very soft and delicate so I just made sure there was a nice coat of gel on the canvas so I did not need to seal the top of the lace. once dry I added my photo and pretties.

some close ups.....

The roses have had the tips of the petals coloured with Prima Color Bloom Spray in Soft Teal and then a little Prima Art Sugar in white added for some additional sparkle

The chipboard used is from Blue Fern Studios, some of the flowers and leaves along with the metal heart cogs are from Prima, the other flowers and glass pebbles are from The Scrap Cottage.
